Formby Golf Club . Founded in 1884, Formby is a magnificent traditional links course of charm and elegance situated close to the shoreline of the Irish Sea. The course lies within the sandhills and pinewoods of Formby. The club has a distinguished record of staging many major Amateur events including the British Amateur Championship on four occasions. In 2004, Formby hosted the Curtis Cup when Michelle Wie competed for the US Team.
